She/Her
Anxiety, trauma, and depressive symptoms often leave us feeling out of control and hopeless. I believe healing can happen and hope can be restored. Working from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens, I want to create a space where all of my clients feel seen, heard, safe, and respected. As humans, we all want connection, although sometimes these connections cause intense emotions and great amounts of pain. I recognize the stress of single parenting, the communication issues in romantic relationships and/or families, and the struggles of dating in a world of right and left swiping.

I knew I wanted to be a therapist from the time I was sixteen years old. I was a client myself and grew frustrated working with therapists who I did not feel understood me. I did not feel safe and I frequently felt judged. I made a commitment to myself that one day I would do this job and do it differently from those who left me feeling worse than before I went into the session.

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2012 with a Bachelors in Social Work. Following graduation, I worked as a case manager for children and families in the child welfare system. I went back to KU and received my Masters in Social work in 2016. From there, I provided individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents in a psychiatric residential treatment facility. Eventually, I returned to child welfare and worked as a therapist for children and families. Shortly thereafter, I opened a private practice where I saw individual adults and adolescents part-time while continuing to work in child welfare. I moved to Chicago in 2022 and worked in a group private practice before opening Outspoken Therapy in 2024.

I have been trained in DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, and adoption competency. I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couple's Therapy, and I'm a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.

I work with children (10+), teens, and adults in individual, couples, and family therapy. My specialties include anxiety, adoption, relationship issues, depression, emerging adults, family conflict, life transitions, OCD, parenting, self-esteem, self-harm/suicidal ideation, stress, trauma, and women's issues.

I see clients in-person or virtually in Chicago. I am also licensed to see clients virtually who live in Illinois, Kansas, and Florida. For more information on Florida telehealth, please click here.

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my teen daughter and our dog, reading, watching reality TV, playing kickball, bowling, and traveling. My favorite book genres are fantasy, romance, and mystery. I am way too enthusiastic about 90 Day Fiance and Love Island.
